The one question families ask every day

Families who place a parent with a center want to know one thing — how was their day? It is a simple question, but a hard one to answer well when the team is busy from morning to night. Relatives who hear nothing start to worry, and that worry turns into repeat phone calls that pull nurses and carers away from the work in front of them.

Today those updates are usually done by hand — typing a message, snapping a photo, sending it chat by chat. When things get busy, it slips. Some families hear every day; others go quiet for a week. The LINE Family Portal is designed to fix exactly this: to make communication with home steady and reliable, without adding work for the team. Read more about handling family data correctly as you open up.

It works on the LINE every home already uses

Almost every Thai household already uses LINE, so families download no new app, set no new password, and learn nothing extra — updates are designed to arrive in the LINE they already open every day: a summary of the resident's day, meals, mood, activities, and the good-moment photos the team chooses to share.

The key point is that the team never types a separate report for families. When carers log care through the mobile app or AI care notes, the parts you choose to share flow out to the family on their own. Record once, use it for both the work inside the center and the conversation with home. Families can reply, the team can answer — all in one place, nothing lost in a long chat thread.

Consent, privacy, and the trust that wins your next placement

Health information is sensitive data under PDPA, so sharing with families is designed to stay under the center's control — you choose what to disclose and to whom, and each family sees only their own relative's information. Every share rests on recorded consent, and can be withdrawn whenever a family asks. Read the principles of collecting data correctly in PDPA for care homes.

When families can see the care with their own eyes, worry drops, calls drop, and trust grows. That is what makes families recommend you and stay for the long term. Steady transparency becomes a quiet selling point that brings in the next placement. See how resident data is kept together in resident records.

Frequently asked questions

Do families need to download a new app?

No. It is designed to work on the LINE families already use — no new app, no new password, nothing extra to learn. Care updates arrive directly in their LINE and open like any normal message, so even relatives who are not comfortable with technology can use it right away.

When will this feature be available?

The LINE Family Portal is in development and is not available yet. We are designing it to work smoothly with the care records already in the system. If you are interested, contact the Caleo team to book a demo and be notified when it goes live — we will share clear timing as the launch approaches.

What will families see, and can the center control it?

The center stays in control. You choose what to disclose — a daily summary, meals, mood, activities, or activity photos — and each family sees only their own relative's information, never another resident's. Anything you do not choose to share stays internal to the system.

How does it align with PDPA?

Health information is sensitive data under PDPA, so every share rests on recorded consent that families can withdraw. The system logs what was shared and with whom, so it can be reviewed later. The center, as the data controller, remains responsible for obtaining consent and using the data lawfully.

Does sending family updates add work for the team?

No. It is designed so the team never types a separate report. When carers log care as usual through the mobile app or AI care notes, the parts you choose to share flow out to families automatically. Record once, use it for both center work and the conversation with home — so the team spends more time on care, not on reports.
